CLEARCURE GOO

The Cure To Epoxy™

Below are some frequently asked questions (FAQ). We will be adding more information to this page often so please check back regularly. Thank you all again for your interest in the Clear Cure Goo.

Q. I have a Tuffleye/Loon Light, can I use it to cure the Clear Cure Goo?

A. Unfortunately NO. UV Cured Products have a very specific spectrum. You have to be right on the money to cure the clear cure goo, or use a powerful full spectrum light, which would not be safe to use nor recommended for our product.

Q. I have seen UV lights available online can I use them to cure your light.

A. Our light has been produced specifically for our product. It is a very low powered light and in fact has been developed to be used for our specific light spectrum that is needed to cure the Clear Cure Goo. While other lights may work only ours is created to be used safe for fly tying. We can not stress the importance of not only getting the spectrum correct but getting the power/watts correct. If you use a stronger light you may cause serious injury to yourself. Not to mention the fact that the light may not cure the Clear Cure Goo at all- See above.

Q. Is your light safe.

A. Our product cures using our light, provided in the kit in 3-5 seconds. If you take the Clear Cure Goo outside it will cure in 3-5 seconds. UV light is everywhere, it is in fluorescent light, it is in sunlight, and in fact the "Black" light that is in kids play areas or that you will find in some clubs are 100% UV light. Black Light refers to light that can not be seen in the visible light spectrum. Our product was designed to work specifically with the Clear Cure Goo. I can not stress how important it is to use the light provided, it is a very low powered light and has been shown safe. AS ALAYS NEVER SHINE THE LIGHT DIRECTLY AT YOUR EYE OR ANYONE ELSES EYE, bright light and UV light should never be shined in eyes.
Video will example will go here soon.

Q. The Loon light is a UV light why wont that work.

A. As we talked about earlier, light cured products cure on a very specific spectrum. Our light will not cure the Loon UV Products and their light will not cure the Clear Cure Goo. You must have the exact Nm to cure our product. If you are off by 5Nm you will not cure the Clear Cure Goo properly. An example of that would be if you used the Loon light on the Clear Cure Goo- You could hold that light on the uncured product and it would never cure to the core. It may put a small thin skin on it, but would ooze out.

Q. How long can the Clear Cure Goo be stored?

A. Our Chemist says that the Clear Cure Goo should last 10 months to a year without any change in our product. We have some older tubes that are 14 months old (as of January 1st, 2010) and have not noticed any change- We will continue to monitor those tubes to see just how long they will last. Please store your syringes in a room that is 85 degrees or less

Q. I have used other light cured products and they have yellowed. Will your product yellow?

A. Our product will not yellow when you use the light provided in the Kit. It was years in development to insure we have a product that will not yellow.

Q. Will the Clear Cure Goo shatter or crack?

A. As we said this product was years in development, the Clear Cure Goo Thick and Thin has some flexibility, just enough to absorb some impact when you hit it against a rock, pier, pillar, gel coat or motor keeping it from shattering. You spent time tying a fly we feel it should be able to handle the impacts of casting.

Q. Do you have a flexible version of Clear Cure Goo?

A. As stated above the Thick and Thin version of Clear Cure Goo has some slight flexibility in it. It is what keeps it from cracking or shattering on impact, however it is not flexible enough to be pulled or twisted..... Thats coming Next Month :) estimated to be available by the end of February.

Q. How do you get the applicator tip on?

A. Your Clear Cure Goo syringes have a Luer Lock tip on them. The syringes are shipped with a black shipping CAP. To remove the cap just give it a quarter turn twist and it will come off. Next add the provided green applicator tip and place it on the syringe and twist it on. You are now good to go.

Q. Do I need to place the black shipping cap back on the syringes when I am done using the Clear Cure Goo and am ready to store it?

A. No, all you need to do is place the Red Tip provided with your syringe on the Green shipping applicator and you are now ready to store your syringes.

Q. My syringe is difficult to squeeze, or the is nothing coming out even when applying a good amount of pressure.

A. When you first use your syringe the plunger is sticking out way out the back of the syringe. This makes it sometimes difficult to use. Apply small gradual pressure and you should have some product come out the tip of the syringe. If you have too much product come out of the tip just put the applicator tip in the product and draw back the plunger it should suck up the excess Clear Cure Goo. If nothing is coming out and you thing you may have a clogged tip, gently pull back on the syringe to relieve pressure on the syringe, remove the applicator tip and clean with a bodkin. Put the applicator on and it should be good to go. If for any reason it doesn't please email us at Info@ClearCureGoo.Com and we will mail you out some new tips in the mail. As long as you dont cure the tip with the light, and use the Red Tip Cover you should not have clogged tips.

Q. I have spilled some Clear Cure Goo, how do I clean it up?

A. You can clean the uncured Clear Cure Goo using warm water and soap or alcohol.
